Varsis develops back-office application for retailers, SAP Business One users, with GeneXus

The solution developed in low-code using GeneXus for SAP Systems Fiori brings an enhanced user experience and greater simplification to financial, accounting, and tax operations in the retail segment.

Varsis TS Tecnologia, a company specialized in providing solutions for the retail market, has developed an extension to financial, accounting, and tax controls for the SAP Business One solution used by the retail sector.

In a supermarket chain, for example, although it is a small operation and invoicing does not compare with that of a large company, the volume is considerable and this amount is not supported by SAP Business One. In addition, the invoice issuing process required the user to go through several screens in the system, making the process complex and lengthy.

“The low-code development platform GeneXus for SAP Systems Fiori allowed us to provide a more agile and dynamic usability process, reducing the operation to a single screen, and increasing our invoicing capacity,” explains Marcelo Cuin, Development Director at Varsis.

GeneXus was selected due to its ability to accelerate the system's development as it contains pre-configured programming languages. The platform was provided by AGL Solutions, GeneXus’ regional partner.

“What appealed to us about GeneXus was the speed of code generation.  With it, we write little code and replicate application patterns with the same look. We have increased our productivity by 10% compared to traditional development,” explains Mr. Cuin.

The solution developed by Varsis is currently implemented in 14 stores of Carone Supermarket, located in the state of Espírito Santo.
The support of a low-code tool for developing solutions brings more productivity to companies in the technology sector.

With GeneXus, Varsis can focus more on the problems of the retail sector and less on programming, offering a solution that is robust, centralized, and fully compliant with all the processes required by the sector for effective management.
