Flores Government (Uruguay) launches Inés, the virtual assistant developed with GeneXus technology
Inés will reduce bureaucratic barriers and ensure management centered on the real needs of people. The official launch will be held on July 30, 2026, and will feature the participation of Nicolás Jodal (CEO of GeneXus).
Inés is the artificial intelligence virtual assistant developed with GeneXus technology, which the Intendencia de Flores (Uruguay) will put into operation to streamline the management of municipal procedures and position the department as a tourist destination and innovative government.
Unlike a traditional chatbot, which only answers pre-programmed questions, Inés is an intelligent agent with the autonomy to reason, execute tasks, query databases, and take actions within the system. Its technological power allows it to interpret the context of each citizen inquiry, guide the resolution of procedures in real time, and offer responses tailored to the needs of each user, with secure and institutional handling of public data.
From the website and a WhatsApp number, Inés acts as a digital host, capable of helping with:

The name of the virtual assistant pays tribute to Inés Durán, who 222 years ago (on April 14, 1804), donated part of her lands to consolidate the founding of the city of Trinidad, capital of the department of Flores. Her gesture allowed families in the area to access legal and dignified homes.
Today, the Intendencia reclaims that legacy of empathy and community service through a virtual assistant that seeks to bring technology closer to people.
