GeneXus and Globant among the top 5 tech companies with the best reputation in Uruguay

The Merco ranking recognizes companies and individuals who have built a solid reputation based on ethical management, innovation, the quality of their relationships with various stakeholders, and public trust.

Martin Migoya (CEO and Co-Founder of Globant), Nicolás Jodal (Co-Founder and CEO of GeneXus), Guibert Englebienne
(Co-Founder of Globant and President of Globant X), and Breogán Gonda (Co-founder & Chief Technology Advisor at GeneXus).

In a landscape where corporate reputation has become as crucial as innovation itself, GeneXus and Globant have established themselves as two of the most highly regarded tech companies in Uruguay, securing top positions in the Merco Empresas Uruguay 2025 ranking. Both companies, with a strong presence in the country and international reach, made it into the Top 5 of tech firms with the best reputation, sharing the spotlight with global giants like Google, Microsoft, and Apple.

Merco, considered the world's first audited corporate reputation monitor, bases its evaluation on a multi-stakeholder methodology that includes more than 15 sources of information, surveys of various interest groups, and independent validation by KPMG under the ISAE 3000 standard. All results and criteria are publicly available on its official website: merco.info.

In addition to the tech sector ranking, Merco Empresas Uruguay 2025 also identified the organizations with the best overall reputation in the country. Leading the list was Mercado Libre in first place (Check out the interview conducted by Nicolás Jodal with Marcos Galperin, founder of Mercado Libre), followed by Banco Itaú, Banco Santander, Salus, Conaprole, Antel, Tienda Inglesa, Tres Cruces Shopping, Carrasco International Airport (Corporación América), and Farmashop.

This ranking is complemented by the Merco Líderes 2025 list, which highlights the business leaders with the highest reputations in the country. In this edition, Nicolás Jodal, CEO of GeneXus, was recognized for the fourth consecutive year as Uruguay’s most reputable leader. Martín Migoya, CEO of Globant, also entered the top 10, climbing from 27th place in 2024. These recognitions reflect the strong connection between inspiring leadership and solid corporate reputation.
