In a strategic leadership move, GeneXus announces the appointment of Gustavo Carriquiry as Product Manager of GeneXus - a role that, from now on, will hold a C-Level position within the organization.

This decision comes in the context of the imminent release of GeneXus Next, the new edition of GeneXus designed to meet the challenges of the new era of enterprise software.

Gustavo is Uruguayan, a graduate of the Engineering Faculty at ORT University and the Business School of the University of Montevideo. For over three decades, he has specialized in developing projects with GeneXus and applying technology to business, maintaining constant interaction with clients and internal teams to promote tech adoption and manage its impact within organizations.

Known by many as “Guscarr,” he has been working with GeneXus since its early versions - first as a client, and later as a company member since 1993. He has taken part in the development of numerous projects across different technologies and industries, led the expansion and establishment of GeneXus offices in Mexico, Brazil, and Japan, and contributed to the integration of GeneXus with Globant. Additionally, he has been an international speaker on GeneXus in countries such as Uruguay, Brazil, Mexico, Argentina and Japan.

Since 2007, he has also served as COO (Chief Operating Officer) of GeneXus. “We are about to release the first version of GeneXus Next, which will be the foundation upon which the platform evolves. This is the beginning of something very big,” Carriquiry added.
 

GeneXus Next: A Transformational Launch

Gustavo Carriquiry’s appointment coincides with a critical moment for the company: the release of GeneXus Next, scheduled for late September 2025.

GeneXus Next is the new edition of GeneXus. It’s an enterprise software development platform that combines Generative AI and Symbolic (deterministic) AI to accelerate the entire software lifecycle - with precision and full control.

The platform maintains GeneXus’s core paradigm: it centers around application modeling and the automatic generation of code and databases from that knowledge base. In other words, it retains the idea of “executable specification,” where users model entities, processes, and business rules (now optionally assisted by AI), and the platform generates complete applications.
