From Figma to GeneXus: New Free Course on Integration

The training, online and available on demand in Spanish, Portuguese, and English, is aimed at designers, integrators, and teams that want to learn how to properly prepare and import Figma files into projects developed with GeneXus.

We are announcing the launch of the course "From Figma to GeneXus: Integration Stage," the second in a series of three complementary training courses created to address the different roles involved in the design and import process in GeneXus. The third stage will be available soon and will be announced through GeneXus's official channels.

The course, which combines theory, practical examples, and recommendations based on GeneXus best practices, is designed for designers, integrators, and teams that work alongside GeneXus developers, with the goal of ensuring that design decisions are correctly translated during import.

"This course was born out of a concrete need: many teams arrive at the integration stage with files that are not ready to be imported, and that creates rework and friction between design and development. We wanted to close that gap with practical, clear content aligned with what GeneXus actually needs to generate a functional application," says Cecilia Passalacqua, Designer Advocate at GeneXus.

From Figma to GeneXus: Integration Stage

In this second course, participants will learn how to review and simplify a Figma file, apply naming and modeling conventions, configure responsiveness and prototyping properties, and identify the most common technical limitations before importing. The goal is for the file to reach GeneXus in optimal condition, minimizing adjustments after import.

What will you learn?

  • How to review and prepare a Figma file for import, simplifying its structure and removing unnecessary elements.
  • The naming and modeling conventions that allow GeneXus to correctly interpret each element of the design.
  • How to configure responsiveness, Auto Layout, and constraints with a direct impact on frontend generation.
  • How to identify and resolve the most common technical limitations, and prepare the final file for a successful import.

Prerequisites

This course is the direct continuation of From Figma to GeneXus: Design Stage. It is recommended to complete it before starting, as the concepts of componentization, nomenclature, and systematization are assumed to be known.

Additionally, it is recommended to have solid knowledge of Figma (components, variants, styles, Auto Layout, and constraints), familiarity with the GeneXus environment, and basic knowledge of responsive design.

Duration and Format

  • Videos: approximately 48 minutes of content.
  • Estimated study time: 2 hours.
  • Software used: Figma and GeneXus (with the Design Import tool).

From Figma to GeneXus - Implementation Stage

Aimed at GeneXus developers, this course covers the process after import. It analyzes the import dialog, generated objects, complex controls, fonts, and limitations, with a focus on bringing the design to a functional and maintainable implementation.
Status: In development.
