MARFRIG Group is one of the main meat production groups worldwide. Originally constituted in Brazil, today it has over 49 meat processing plants in Brazil, Argentina, Chile and Uruguay. It holds four meat processing plants in Uruguay that manage 40% of the national market and is negotiating two more.

When the group arrived in Uruguay, it bought Frigorífico Tacuarembó, at the end of 2006 it bought Frigorífico San José, and in July 2007 it bought La Caballada in Salto, where an audit was performed to evaluate the software used for the last two years, which was developed by Soluciones for total management control. With the intention of optimizing its technological resources, the company sought to develop its own applications and, therefore, it worked together with Soluciones, a GeneXus Solution Partner in Uruguay.

Then, Soluciones developed the three main systems that MARFRIG Group Uruguay needed. First: TrazPRO, a system for production and traceability control. Second: CountPRO, a solution for Administrative Accounting Management. And finally: SalaryPRO, a tool for the payment of wages and salaries. TrazPRO is the production and traceability control program that also generates sales invoicing and, consequently, the accounting entries it generates for CountPRO; CountPRO is the comprehensive accounting system with control of suppliers and debtors, where the banking information of the company is also kept; SalaryPRO is the system for payment of earnings that interacts with CountPRO in generating an accounting entry resulting from each payment of earnings.

At present, MARFRIG Group Uruguay owns the following meat processing plants: La Caballada in Salto, San José, Tacuarembó, and Colonia; the first two use the applications generated in GeneXus by Soluciones, and which will be operational in the next four months for the remaining ones. Currently, “we have entered into a partnership with MARFRIG Group Uruguay, through which we sell the property of the Knowledge Bases of the three products that facilitate the administration of 100 percent of its meat processing plants’ management in Uruguay,” explained Ramón Jacques from Soluciones. In turn, MARFRIG takes care of training developers and, therefore, it works together with Soluciones for the growth of the Group's products.

Thanks to the above, 100 percent of its meat processing plants in Uruguay will be managed by products developed in GeneXus by Soluciones and, at the same time, MARFRIG Group can have its own development team.
