Alico Seguros Uruguay needed to improve its processes of business tracking and monitoring. Once again, it relied on GXplorer and GeneXus to find the solution.

AIG Group (American International Group, Inc.) is a leading international organization in the insurance and financial services market, headquartered in the US. Its partner companies subscribe to a vast array of personal and business insurances through different distribution channels in approximately 130 countries and jurisdictions all over the world. This is also the case with Alico Seguros Uruguay, specializing in savings and life insurance.

Alico needed to extract some 30 daily reports from its Sales and Invoicing Business Information Management System in order to improve the tracking and monitoring of its business. This led to the hiring of Consultoría de Sistemas, Solution Partner GeneXus, to search for the ideal solution. As Alico Uruguay was already working with GXplorer, one of the first options presented was to make the reports within the KB itself.

Finally, a small Datawarehouse solution was developed with GXplorer 6.0 over one existing KB to extract information from the transactional systems, taking the reports requirements as a reference.

The solution went into production within just 45 days, with the loading processes running on a daily basis, and having all necessary queries duly catalogued. Concurrently, time was devoted to impart basic training to Alico’s developers.

“Undoubtedly, the greatest advantage was the integration of GXplorer into GeneXus, and devising the solution in a short time, significantly maximizing the original requirement, as we additionally provided a solution that allowed the generation of new reports,” stated Juan Pablo Crespi, Director of Consultoría de Sistemas.
