Two major Apple and Google Store updates coming soon

Starting in July and August, both the Apple App Store and the Google Play Store will update their application publishing requirements.
With GeneXus 15 we're already prepared!

As of July 2018, all new iPhone apps and updates, including universal apps, will need to support the iPhone X Super Retina display to be published in the App Store. Here's the Apple website for more information. This means that all new iOS applications and updates submitted to the App Store must be compiled with the iOS 11 SDK. (In this GeneXus Community Wiki page you can find step-by-step information to publish an application in the Apple Store).

Something similar will happen from August onwards in terms of requirements for publishing an application in Play, the Google store. Google Play will require that new applications target at least Android 8.0 (API level 26). The same applies to application updates as from November 2018. Here's the Google page that explains it. (In this GeneXus Community Wiki page you can find step-by-step information to publish an application in Google Play: HowTo Publishing an application in Google Play ).

The good news is that these requirements can be met with GeneXus 15!

The requirements to publish in the Apple Store are covered as from GeneXus 15 Upgrade 8

Upcoming requirements by Google Play are also fulfilled as from GeneXus 15 Upgrade 9.
