XperTools: Extending the business horizon
The possibility of incorporating extensions to the IDE also facilitates the extension of business. This is the perspective of XperTools, one of the first companies to join the GeneXus Platform Partners program.
The GeneXus Platform Partners program is geared to those who develop and commercialize products that extend GeneXus functionality. Currently, there are several people and companies who are taking advantage of its benefits and making their products available to the community. This is the case of XperTools, who believed in the program from the very beginning, by participating in the Early Adopters Program of the GXextension of GeneXus Rocha to incorporate new technologies which may be used by GeneXus developers.
“We wanted to join the program as soon as the possibility arose. We contributed our components, knowledge and experiences to the GeneXus community,” said Javier Coitiño, CEO at XperTools. The company was started with the idea of providing different extensions to the GeneXus Community which develop components based on different technologies (such as Flash/Flex/AIR, Silverlight/XAML/WPF), that integrate to the main frameworks (GeneXus, .NET, J2EE, AJAX) to enhance the quality of their developments.
An example of these components is the xpertPanelDesigner, an extension developed for GeneXus Rocha, which furnishes a RIA (Rich Internet Application) WYSIWYG editor for the Web Panels and transactions of the application. In turn, this component is accompanied by a number of RIA User Controls which provide an extremely rich interface to the application generated, drastically reducing application development times.
“Today a new path is open, and we not only wish to accompany this opening, but we wish to take part in it. One of our objectives is to boost the development with GeneXus by offering components for development infrastructure as well as those components specially focused on incorporating concepts on Business Models,” Coitiño stated.
