The I GeneXus Spain Meeting gathered more than 600 attendees
The European Community attended the GeneXus Spain Meeting 2011 in Logroño and viewers all over the world participated via streaming video: IT sector professionals, entrepreneurs, managers and developers.
This event, which gathered ICT professionals, entrepreneurs and managers, and was organized by GeneXus Spain jointly with Think TIC and Government of La Rioja, introduced companies to the technology tools and applications offered by GeneXus to increase their efficiency and productivity in order to face the challenges posed by the current technology world.
Nicolás Jodal opened the event and led his audience to reflect on the small technology revolutions that have taken place in the last few years (such as the emergence of intelligent mobile devices), and to what extent they have changed our lives. Mr. Jodal's presentation at the GeneXus Spain Meeting was followed by Antonio Mangado, Director of GeneXus Spain and DMR Sistemas, who talked about the importance of emotional aspects in corporate decision making.
In all, 17 experts took part in the various presentations about topics such as talent and technology, collaborative environments, intelligent mobile devices, cloud computing, and so on.
One of the most acclaimed speakers was Juan José Almazán, General Director of MAPFRE Inversión, who described for the audience his company's experience in the development of applications using GeneXus technology, which they have used for more than 12 years.
Another presentation that should also be highlighted is the one given by Juan José Goñi, who authored several articles and publications about change management and is currently People Manager at Tecnalia.
Nicolás Jodal, GeneXus International Vice President, announced from Spain and to the rest of the GeneXus international community, the official release of GeneXus Marketplace and Beta 2 de GeneXus X Evolution 2, which includes a generator of applications for intelligent mobile devices, the GeneXus Smart Devices Generator. This generator makes it possible to develop applications for Android, Blackberry and iOs (iPod, iPhone and iPad).
In his closing keynote, Mr. Jodal also described the three strategic axes that the multinational enterprise will continue to work on, and which offer the greatest opportunities for companies: development of web applications, cloud computing and development of corporate and personal applications for intelligent mobile devices.
Two technology workshops were also held during the event. They were aimed at developers and the topics were "Testing automation of applications developed with GeneXus (GX Test)” and “Team development of knowledge-based systems (GX Server)”.
