Database Reverse Engineering Tool version 1.2, released
Since May 24th, version 1.2 of the Database Reverse Engineering Tool (Dbret) has been available, presenting new features and especially, several substantial improvements.
One of the main features presented by the new version of the tool is a considerable improvement in connecting to iSeries and Oracle. Also, it now presents support for new types of data such as Long Text and Double of MySQL. The support of ADO.NET has also been added, enabling connection with Informix.
“Generate views as transactions” is one of the new options that are presented, enabling the possibility of generating, in addition to the Data View object, the associated Transaction for the case of the views (in the previous versions only the Data View was generated) and thus being able to manipulate it in GeneXus as another table of the model.
In turn, for those tables that do not have Primary Key (PK), but which have the candidate key or auto number, the latest version of the Dbret automatically selects that attribute as PK in the internal table, so an associated Transaction can thus be created.
