Thanks to Microsoft's platform convergence, it is now possible to generate a single app that runs on phones, tablets, PCs, IoT devices and Xbox.

In this scenario, the GeneXus R+D team is currently working on the generator for this platform that is experiencing fast market growth (so far, over 100 million Windows 10 installations).  
 
That's why Beta 1 of the new GeneXus generator for Windows 10 was released in a GeneXus Salto nightly build. Do you want to give it a try?
 
Some features of the Windows generator:

Because it is similar to the other native code generators for Smart Devices, the efforts required to take an Android, iOS, Windows 8.1 or Windows Phone 8.1 application to this platform are minimized. For example, several layouts can be designed for the various screen sizes available, in order to determine how the app will look in each device. In fact, the layouts specifically built for Windows 8.1 or Windows Phone 8.1 are automatically converted.
 
In addition, it provides support for APIs that interact with the device and platform features, geolocation, notifications and other features that are also supported in this generator.
 
When comparing the Android and iOS generators included in GeneXus Salto and the features available in this version, it is worth pointing out that SD Components are already supported.
 
We at the GeneXus team invite everyone to try this new generator. In particular, at this stage we want those who have online applications generated for iOS and Android, as well as for Windows 8.1 or Windows Phone 8.1, to try this generator and add support for Windows 10 in order to reach new markets.
