Grupo Atlas: when technological innovation increases dividends

  • The Paraguayan company developed a tool with GeneXus that allowed it to optimize its sales processes and improve customer relationships.
  • Sales times were reduced by 50% thanks to the use of the application.
Grupo Editorial ATLAS, a leading company in the representation, publishing, and commercialization of reading materials, developed a smart-device platform for Android using GeneXus technology. This solution allowed the sales force to make purchase processes effective and efficient with users in real time.

Grupo Atlas needed to modify its sales channels to reduce sales times and improve customer service. With the help of GeneXus, the editorial group’s sales representatives were equipped with a tool that provided mobility, control, and speed, while ensuring full process management.

The development of this application was mainly based on maintaining operational order through technology, with a forward-looking vision of the system as a targeted solution to the real needs related to response times from both the sales team and the clients.

Among the main benefits achieved after the implementation were:
  • Improved sales processing time, resulting in more effective responses from sales reps.
  • Real-time tracking of sales representatives.
  • Elimination of physical forms.
  • Reduced credit risk, which is key for the collections department.
  • Acceleration of the sales process, leading to more efficient and successful sales closings.

With the implementation of the smart-device tool, the sales process, which used to take approximately 10 days, was reduced by 50%.

A Before and After

Before using the GeneXus tool, Grupo ATLAS estimated that developing such an application would take 12 months and require five people. With GeneXus, those costs in time and human resources were reduced. The same development was achieved in three months with a team of only three people. This resulted in a 400% increase in time productivity and a 40% reduction in workforce, achieving the same results.

“On the other hand, one of our major challenges was the difficulty of updating existing systems, as it became increasingly hard to find human resources skilled in the tools we had been using for system development. GeneXus presented itself as a solution not only because of the cost savings it provided, but also because of its ability to develop cross-platform applications without needing to master each individual environment.”

“Finally, we needed an application that could function independently of the network coverage in different areas of the country. The GeneXus tool’s capability to develop online-offline applications helped us solve this issue smoothly,” concluded Sergio Iván Aquino, Head of the Systems Development Area.
