Exclusive benefits and personalized attention were the premises adopted by the Sindicato Medico del Estado de Rio Grande do Sul (Doctors’ Union of the State of Rio Grande do Sul), in Brazil, to guarantee the satisfaction of thousands of subscribers.
Funded on May 20th, 1931 in Porto Alegre, the Sindicato Medico de Río Grande do Sul (SIMERS), one of the largest in the country, fights for the rights and work conditions of health professionals, and aims to offer an increasing number of benefits and continuous improvements in the areas of quality and services to the members. One of the successful strategies adopted by the institution is the creation if the Doctor Card, which offers various benefits and exclusive services seeking to generate satisfaction, loyalty and a long term relationship with each member.
The purpose of the Doctor Card is to offer benefits and facilitate purchases in a network of shops, and it can be used as a payment method for any purchase made by a member. In that scenario technology becomes an essential factor of differentiation to strengthen the strategy and achieve the objectives defined by the Union for this project.
To support the project and mainly to implement it in record time, the Union used the knowledge of Qualitá Informática, an application development company of the Southern region that uses GeneXus as their main application development platform, and whose differentiation is productivity, flexibility and cutting edge technology.
GeneXus was chosen to enable the implementation of the project’s requirements. With applications that run in Linux and Windows servers, version 9.0 was ideal to enable homologation of the applications for the Web platform, which was fundamental for integration with the electronic commerce sites.
Some Add-ons enabled supporting the search by common components, validating with precision searches such as CPF and Registro Estatal, while it was complemented with GXchart for the generation of the Card’s analytical graphics.
The technology adopted by the Union to implant the card enables efficiency and performance in the information management and control processes, from the point of sale to the electronic commerce sites. For the member, in addition to the card’s direct benefit, there is also an administrative support and information portal, where they can follow the purchase history and manage the relationship with the Union.
Thanks to the Union’s ideas, Qualitá’s experience and the infinite resources available in GeneXus, today almost 15,000 members of SIMERS use the Doctor Card, along with the shop networks and the registered service companies. It works as an identity document, and it gives facilitated access to that valuable service, generating satisfaction and the opportunity of obtaining benefits for member doctors.
