Grow and modernize with GeneXus technology
With the GRP (Government Resource Planning) solution from K2B, the management of State Casinos is boosted and renewed
Casinos directly manage and operate gambling games in Casinos and Entertainment Halls, contributing directly to state revenue.
Since 2000, Casinos worked with a very rudimentary solution, with several independent systems that did not interact with each other, nor did they have comprehensive information, nor allowed for the level of detail required by the institution.
The goal was to modernize the operation of these systems, centralizing information and providing transparency in management. In 2013, it was decided to implement a GRP solution, and K2B’s tool was chosen for this purpose.
Towards an Integrated Management System
Valeria López, Financial Administration Manager at Casinos, explained that this decision was mainly due to the company’s experience and track record in government solutions. The project, called SIA (Integrated Management System), aimed to modernize the organization’s general operations, focusing on three key points: centralization, transparency, and comprehensiveness of information. It integrated accounting, budgeting, financial management, and synchronized the regulatory process with the Integrated Financial Information System (SIIF) and the State Procurement Integration System (SICE), thus avoiding the duplication of information entry and ensuring coherence between the different systems.
The solution aims to model the Central Casinos Directorate by creating a unique scheme that can be replicated across various branches. López provided further details about the scenario: “Before starting the project, the expectations were high; it was a complete change in the way of working. Not spending the whole year creating information, but being able to consult and work on the same data, is a huge advancement. Automating processes, unifying procedures, and clarifying workflows within the organization is marvelous. The expectations were huge, and we’ve been successful in these areas. We’re still working to improve the accounting part, but everything related to workflows has been greatly organized.” For the project’s execution, a mixed team was formed with personnel from Casinos, CPA Ferrere, and K2B, each specializing in specific areas of the project. “The people were excellent, the human support, the commitment, and the brilliant technical support.”
By incorporating K2B, the organization automates and renews its management, focusing on future growth. López emphasized that, being a scalable solution, it can continue to be modeled based on what already exists, and looking forward, it will always be adaptable to new needs.
