2012: a great year that made the GeneXus global Community shine like never before. Here are the top 8 events!
The continuous changes that the world is undergoing as a result of technological advances are nothing new. This reality is a momentous and cross-cutting fact, where our global community has played a responsible central role. In that sense, the year we are now leaving behind was undoubtedly a great one. To prove it, let’s go over some of the most outstanding instances that became a reality as a result of our joint efforts!
2012 was a quite prosperous year thanks to each of the 86,000 developers who make up the GeneXus Community and contribute, in countless ways, to our qualitative and quantitative growth. Just some figures to demonstrate this are:

… and these numbers continue to rise as we write.
But it’s not just about figures! Facts have proven that, as the old saying goes: an image is worth a thousand words. As we may recall, the initial steps taken in 2012 took place in January with the RC of GeneXus X Evolution 2 (in the global technological context, HTML 5 was consolidated as WEB standard, while GXplorer also had some good news of its own, as it launched the first beta of the new WEB version).
March was a very active month for the IT industry, as the whole world discussed the newly-arrived post-PC era, Windows 8 released its first beta -consumer preview- version, the iPad 3 became a reality and Android Market changed names to Google Play. As far as Artech was concerned, GeneXus X Evolution 2 was introduced at the IX GeneXus Meeting in Mexico.
