A great leap towards GeneXus 15!
We have released the first bits of GeneXus Salto, the upcoming version of GeneXus that will make software building even simpler. Find out the reasons for this significant leap in development speed.
We are currently releasing the first bits of the Beta 1 version of GeneXus Salto!
This is the next version of GeneXus, which -in line with its purpose of making the construction of software an increasingly simpler task- has gone a step further in providing developers and companies with an aid to create better applications in the easiest way possible, and focusing on its flexibility and data management.
The initial steps for this great leap will be taken with this Beta 1, oriented at user interface design and data modelling for making development even more agile than before.
Incremental Development with Live Editing
The GeneXus I+D team has been focused on providing an optimized experience, so, in order to facilitate design in development, they have included the longed-for functionality known as Live Editing!!!
Live Editing enables you to make "live" modifications as you develop, without the need to do build or deploy.
As we introduce changes to the look & feel of the application’s user interface (including changes to its functionality), the changes in the KB immediately affect the App.
Declarative Programming
Another key aspect relative to improvements relates to a new set of properties in transactions, grouped under the name of Data Group in Transactions, focusing on transactions, the fundamental aspect of our development model, which represents an aid to GeneXus in the automation process.
Now, we have the possibility of modelling new scenarios with transactions and access more data with For Each in a much simpler way, getting to know more about the data, its behavior, its nature, and its update policy.
But there is a lot more to this new Beta, both in relation to the development experience as in regards to data management with GeneXus ERP Connector for SAP, Cloud and Android!
