2016 has slipped by, endowing us with countless good things. For instance, a significant increase in innovation in the American continent, with numerous startups and cutting-edge technology adopted at the entrepreneurial level. This, according to the 2016 Gartner report that showed results of the region’s Digital Transformation.
 
Though not only the report by Gartner was most welcomed at GeneXus. We were also very enthusiastic about being nominated by these consultants as Cool Vendors! This acknowledgement was a great joy to us, which boosted our search for solutions within the software industry.
 
Aware that one of the many obstacles for advancing in the software industry is often the lack of professionals, this year GeneXus decided to contribute towards a solution by launching a plan that represents broader possibilities for young people, called GeneXus For Students. This brought along new social networks, as well as a new group of very young individuals who have been learning about the opportunities that our worldwide Community has to offer. To celebrate this we organized yet another event, which we named “Desprogramate”  [Deprogram yourself], held for the first time in the city of Montevideo (Uruguay). This has been the first of many more to come.
 
Like every year, we organized our annual event, which even included an interview with CNN this time!
 
 
But this was not just another Meeting, since the #GX26 was the framework we had for the release of GeneXus 15 -an ally technology that will be of help for companies seeking to continue growing in 2017 based on digital improvement.
 
So, 2016 is almost gone, but it will not be gone unnoticed at all, for it is leaving behind a year representing a brilliant stage of expansion, including clouds, artificial intelligence, virtual reality, the Internet of Things, cognitive technology and integration, and much more.
